High Temperature Nylon PPA Becomes the Preferred Engine Material

Glass fiber reinforced high-temperature nylon composite material based on PPA matrix is easy to manufacture high precision, high temperature and high strength parts. As aging and environmental requirements become stricter for modern automobiles, high-temperature nylon has gradually become the best choice for engine peripheral components.

Superior Mechanical Strength

High-temperature nylon shows obvious advantages over traditional aliphatic nylon such as PA6 and PA66 in mechanical properties and heat resistance.

Under the same glass fiber content, its mechanical strength is about 20% higher than ordinary nylon, supporting lightweight vehicle design.For example, PPA 30%GF can reach tensile strength up to 230MPa, while traditional PA66 30%GF only reaches 190MPa.

Excellent Thermal Aging Performance

Under 1.82MPa thermal deformation test condition, 30% glass fiber reinforced high-temperature nylon reaches 280℃, compared with only 255℃ for conventional PA66 GF30.

Traditional aliphatic nylon struggles to maintain stability above 200℃. Engine peripheral parts face long-term high temperature, high humidity and oil corrosion. Thanks to its special benzene ring molecular structure, high-temperature nylon maintains stable performance under continuous extreme heat exposure.

Outstanding Dimensional Stability

Traditional aliphatic nylon contains high amide groups, leading to high water absorption up to 5%, which seriously reduces dimensional stability and makes it unsuitable for high-precision parts.

High-temperature nylon reduces amide content, cutting water absorption to nearly half of ordinary nylon. This greatly improves dimensional stability, ensuring high-precision engine parts remain stable in changing temperature and humidity.

Excellent Chemical Resistance

Engine peripheral components frequently contact gasoline, coolant and other chemical agents. These substances cause obvious corrosion to ordinary aliphatic polyamide.

The special molecular structure of high-temperature nylon effectively resists chemical erosion, making it ideal for fuel systems, cooling systems and exhaust system plastic parts. It upgrades the overall environmental adaptability of automobile engines.
