High-Performance Modified Plastics for Boiler Climbing Robots – PPS, PEEK, PPA
Traditional boiler inspection requires scaffolding and workers to enter high-temperature, high-pressure environments, creating major safety risks. Wall-climbing robots use permanent magnetic adsorption technology to move steadily on vertical and complex surfaces, completing inspections via remote control and achieving the revolutionary goal of zero personnel inside the furnace.

The stable operation of boiler wall-climbing robots depends heavily on suitable high-performance modified plastics.
Boiler wall-climbing robots work in harsh conditions: high temperature, high pressure, corrosion, and heavy dust. They require permanent magnet adsorption, lightweight design, structural stability, and wear resistance. The modified plastics used are special engineering grades suitable for extreme industrial environments, mainly featuring high heat resistance, corrosion resistance, high strength, and wear resistance.
Key Modified Plastics for Boiler Wall-Climbing Robots
Modified PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide)
Modified PPS is one of the core materials for boiler climbing robots. It has a continuous operating temperature of 200–240°C and an initial thermal decomposition temperature of 450°C, with excellent flame retardancy and chemical resistance.
After glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforcement, plus wear and aging resistance modification, PPS greatly improves structural strength and service life.

Typical applications:
Robot body housing
Permanent magnetic adsorption module protective cover
Wear-resistant parts of walking mechanisms
Pipe connectors for high-pressure water cleaning systems
Modified PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)
Modified PEEK is a high-performance special engineering plastic with outstanding high-temperature resistance, high strength, wear resistance, and pressure resistance. It can withstand 60MPa high-pressure water cleaning and high-temperature furnace environments.
After carbon fiber or glass fiber reinforcement, PEEK is used in high-end precision components.

Wear-resistant parts for precision transmission structures
Modified PPA (High-Temperature Polyamide)
Modified PPA is an upgraded alternative to standard nylon, with a continuous operating temperature above 170°C, excellent dimensional stability, and resistance to hot, humid, and oily environments.
With glass fiber reinforcement and low-water-absorption modification, PPA balances strength and lightweight performance.
